Newsletter n°5 (28 June 2015)
On the 13th of June 1917, after having taught the little shepherds that Jesus wanted “to establish in the world the devotion to Her Immaculate Heart”, Our Lady continued: “To whomever embraces this devotion, I promise salvation. These souls shall be dear to God, as flowers I have placed to adorn His throne.”
Our Lady, having also told them that she would soon come to fetch Jacinta and Francisco, little Lucia worries: “Am I going to stay here all alone?”. And the Holy Virgin replies: “No, my daughter. Do you suffer a great deal? Don’t lose heart. I will never forsake you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.”
These different phrases constitute what is normally called the “little secret”. To be sure of grasping the meaning of them in all its profundity, they should be considered together in leaving aside everything concerning the future of the little seers.
Jesus ( … ) wants to establish in the world the devotion to my Immaculate Heart. To whomever embraces this devotion, I promise salvation. These souls shall be dear to God, as flowers I have placed to adorn His throne. ( … ) My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.
We should know these phrases by heart and meditate on them often. Do we fully understand the extraordinary grace of this devotion? Notre Dame Herself promises us salvation if we practise it. Can we evaluate the treasure which such a promise represents? And it is not a case of a mistake made in translation: in her letter of the 17th of December 1927 by which, for the first time, Sister Lucia reveals one of the points of the secret, the Portugese expression which is used is “prometon a slavação”.
This is the very first point in the secret which Sister Lucia revealed. It was only two years later that she revealed the request for the consecration of Russia. And a wait of a dozen years was necessary before she unveiled the largest part of the secret of the 13th of July 1917.
It is important to know this order, because it shows the priority of the requests made by Our Lady. The first, and therefore the most important, concerns the devotion to the Immaculate Heart, in particular the communion of reparation on the first Saturdays of the month as a way to save and obtain the conversion of sinners. So it is this request that we have to satisfy first and foremost. How many graces would we receive by regularly meditating on these words of our Heavenly Mother! What priceless treasure is this devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, by which Our Lady Herself promises our salvation!

The latest news about our project
An army without a precise and concrete order of the day is an army doomed to incompetence. It is therefore necessary to have a clear procedure. The order of our general, the Queen of Heaven in person, is precisely given in the apparition of the 13th of June, when She says to Lucia: “You will stay here a little longer. Jesus wishes to use you to make me known and loved.” At La Salette, Our Lady had already given similar instructions: “Go, my children, and make sure to tell it to all my people!”
This order to make the Most Holy Virgin known and loved does not only concern Lucia: it concerns all those who are “here a little longer”. Sister Lucia spent her life spreading the devotion to Her Immaculate Heart. We should do the same and so we will also follow the order given by Our Lord to his apostles: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations”.
To do this, we should be as ingenious as the unjust steward in the Gospel, whose shrewdness even Our Lord admired. Because we have no right to keep such a treasure for ourselves, we should communicate it all around us. Not only every Catholic, but every man of good will should be able to know the secret revealed by Our Lady on the 13th of June 1917 and revealed by Sister Lucia ten years later. We should make the most of these two centenary years to know and practise the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and to make it known to those near to us, so that it be a guarantee of salvation not only for ourselves, but for all those around us.
A common joke defines a secret as something which is said to only one person at a time. Well! We should belie this joke and spread “the little secret” of the 13th of June 1917 all around us. Here, then, is the order from the Queen of Heaven:
Make it known to everyone that Our Lady promises salvation to all those who embrace the devotion to Her Immaculate Heart.
So, to our computers, our pens, our faxes, our printers, our telephones (portable or otherwise)! No means should be neglected for making our Heavenly Mothers message – which is also the will of God Himself - known to the whole Catholic world.
